Frequently Asked Questions About NYC Therapy
What kinds of people and issues do you work with?
I work with individuals and couples navigating the emotional and relational challenges of life transitions, loss, or high-pressure professional environments. I specialize in professional burnout, leadership fatigue, complex trauma, and grief, providing a depth-oriented psychoanalytic space to restore confidence, clarity, and a sense of purpose.
What is your approach to therapy?
My foundation is rooted in psychoanalytic and psychodynamic therapy. Together, we explore the deeper emotional, behavioral, and cognitive patterns that shape your current thoughts, relationships, and choices—moving beyond surface symptoms to facilitate substantive and lasting character growth.
How long are sessions?
Individual psychotherapy sessions are 45 minutes in length. Couples therapy sessions are 50 minutes.
How long does therapy last?
The duration of therapy depends entirely on your unique goals. Some clients work with me for several months to navigate a specific life transition, while others engage in longer-term therapy for deeper self-exploration and systemic change. We will collaborate to work at a pace that fits your needs.
Do you offer remote sessions?
Yes. I provide in-person sessions at my Manhattan office on 13th Street, as well as secure, HIPAA-compliant video sessions for individuals and couples who prefer the convenience of remote therapy.
Is therapy confidential?
Strict confidentiality is foundational to the therapeutic process. All sessions are protected by the highest professional, ethical, and legal standards to ensure your total privacy.
Do you take insurance?
I do not participate directly with insurance panels, but I provide detailed monthly superbills for out-of-network reimbursement, which frequently covers a significant portion of the fee. For detailed step-by-step guidance, please review my insurance information page.
What is your fee?
Please contact me directly to discuss current session rates. I also maintain a limited number of sliding scale spots based on financial need and availability.
What forms of payment do you accept?
Zelle is my preferred payment method for its direct security, privacy, and ease of use.
